with five voted for an $108 cap a majority is currently achieved. You can still change your vote until the polls are closed. Now is the time if you feel there should not be a cap increase this year for you to post why you believe so and attempt to change some minds.

Is this vote eligible for super-majority being necessary to pass? I think it's quite a big change to be having just one year into it - also remember that the new rule that looks like it's all but passed (allowing PS signings to long-term contracts) will significantly reduce cap pressure going forward already.

I think a simple majority vote is nessessary on this. I have participated in two similar leagues (you are in one of those two) and in both cases there was asalary cap increase in the second year. I do not think it is that far out of the norm. for there to be an increase this is why it is only a simple majority

Also because both Charles and I agree on this the choices would only be simple majority or standard majority which would mean it would need only 5 votes to pass.

Since there are three choices, a simple majority isn't reached until there are six votes for $8 or if one of the two outstanding votes is for $7 or an already cast no increase votes changes to $7 (which will mean that 5 votes for $8 is a simple majority). Otherwise the final 2 outstanding votes could go against a cap raise and we'd be dead locked at 5/5. Although... I'm pretty sure at least one of the outstanding votes is in favor of the increase. We just need the actual votes cast since I think we are all aware that the cap is going up $8.

Let me take a moment or two to explain how I vote. as commishioner I prefer to not vote unless I absolutely have to. I feel my say comes in weather or not something comes to the voting floor. This way the other owners hve the say in determining weather a rule will be adopted or not. I would say 98% I will not place a vote that will cause a tie or prevent one side or the other from losing a majority it needs. My role is to help facilitate things to make things run smoothly not hinder it.
I feel the commishioner hat I wear superceeds the owner hat I have in these decisions and decide them on this basis. The only exception to this is if I feel very strongly about something. This year the only thing I feel really strongly about to voice an opinion is the practice squad rule addendum which I have already voted for. so in this case I will not vote no and upset what the majority of people have already voted for. OF course in reality i would not matter...
from the rules change prceedure thread a simple majority is defined as
"A simple majority is achieved when half of the final votes are 50% or more of the total votes. (ie six people vote and three vote for the rule change)"
[edited and for spelling remind me after all the votes are done and I will go in to fix the gramatical error. I won't do it now so no one may accuse I added or deleted from the rules to suit my purposes. I do not think anyone would accuse that but it is better to just avoid it just in case]
so even if I voted no the motion would still pass unless someone else changed thier mind. I still havent decided if I want to cast a meaningless vote in this poll or just abstain we will see how I feel when the poll closes. Just do not expect me to make a vote that changers the leagues decision on this or any of the other polls.
