Ok within minutes of having power over the espn site i managed to completely and totally screw up the rosters by "resetting the draft" which i was told i had to do to change owners or have a new draft. It's going to take me days to fix this.
I HATE ESPN.
Can we please move the league to another site? Would people be willing to pay $7 each a year so we can have it on MyFantasyLeague?
Please?

i wrote this somewhere else. please forgive the swearing but in this rare case i will leave it in as far as the board filters will let me.
first though let me add that i am really really sorry for losing all that data. i was hoping to catch up on my team records at some point but now that ain't happening. i hope no one else is as inconvenienced by this.
probably should’ve written this down when it was fresh but i was just far too annoyed. so i went back to the salt mines. which included starting work on preparing the espn site we use for our league for the next football season. I HATE ESPN.
i needed to adjust some league settings. i see i can’t. at the bottom it says in order to perform some very basic league functions such as changing ownership of teams (a current task) you have to ‘reset draft history’. there’s a link there that says ‘do you want to reset your draft history?’ well yeah. this takes me to a page that says by resetting draft history i can do all these critical things i’ll need to do BUT when i do i will lose the most recent draft history. ok i think. we conduct our draft on a separate message board so we have a record of that already. so i say yes. then it comes up with an ‘are you sure?’ page with the same options. this always scares me a little. as it should. but i have to do these things so sure. yes.
what i did not know and is not explained anywhere is that espn’s definition of ‘draft history’ means EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE LAST YEAR. including the results of all the games last season. so within three clicks i had managed to completely vandalize the site to the point where it will be easier to rebuild it from scratch than undo the damage.
so i write to customer service. their entire reply” ‘I apologize for any frustrations. Unfortunately, once you have reset the draft, these cannot be recovered.’
wtf? so you’re telling me your computer system retains the data long enough to know how to undo every f**k**g thing we’ve ever done on the site. and then what? it automatically deletes itself when finished? no. you have the data. so you’re really saying you won’t undo it because you are too f**k**g lazy to pay a programmer to add such simple functionality to your site. and besides why do i have to destroy large amounts of data every year just to keep using the site?
f**k espn. we’e moving to myfantasyleague. even if i have to pay for it out of my own pocket.

I feel your pain Sean. I struggle with MFL as I don't find it intuitive but it is infinitely better than when I ran an ESPN league.
I'd be happy to chip in for the hosting fees on MFL.

I think I have all the info or can find it. I should be clear to pay for all the MFL leagues I'm now responsible for in a couple weeks and then I'll send an announcement. Right now it's on www5.myfantasyleague.com/2012/home/68717. If you want to update your team there I'll reset your password. I have a backlog of FF Commish stuff want to try to discharge by the end of the weekend.
