I told the Co-Commish I was thinking about doing this and he did not object so Ima gonna do it.
As stated elsewhere the transition from ESPN to MFL creates an issue with how they assign player positions, with ESPN being far more liberal in assigning dual DL/LB eligibility in particular. Normally this wouldn't be too big of a problem. However coming after player resigning and immediately before the draft, the timing of this offends my own sense of fairness. Specifically, it affects all draft and free agent strategy, and causes cap problems for some. While some teams are affected more than others, I say this adds an unexpected element of Not Fun to the league. Now that the draft is underway, there is an urgency to resolve this now.
To address this, I rule as follows:
1) For the 2012-13 season only, players with dual position eligibility on ESPN may have it on MFL. I can easily make the adjustment on MFL.
2) I will create a thread somewhere appropriate on this board called "Request for Player Position Eligibility" To have your player receive dual eligibility, post the name of the player in that thread and the position you want him to play. I will then check ESPN to confirm you could do this if we were still there. Once confirmed, the player will have this dual eligibility until the end of the 2012-13 DFFL season. This both makes the process completely transparent and saves me the trouble of tracking down every single player eligible.
3) Any requests made after kickoff any week (defined as 1pm ET Sunday except for teams playing in Thursday or Saturday games) will be processed after the games that week are concluded. I ain't making any scoring adjustments for you if you miss deadline.
I welcome any suggestions to improve this policy but will implement it immediately.
