Average Hero's are completely average at #5 in a 10 team league.
I'm should lose two out of my last three games (sorry imperials), so I'm doubting I make the playoffs.
I think a tie should be counted a loses for both teams in the future. Tie's crap up the standings. If a team doesn't win, then they lose. I'd love to eliminate ties in the future, but I'm pretty sure there isn't support for that.

Oh sure I run another league on MFL with "overtime" for ties. We use an alternate (bench) player in case of ties.

Both teams losing sounds a lot more interesting, but anything that stops a tie is better then a tie.
We could give the win to whoever has the most cap space at the time. Since that manager did a better job then the other one by scoring the same amount of points, but doing it with less $.

If each year was an auction then yeah cap space would work well... but my team is still hamstrung by some rediculous contracts from the last owner and I've been in the league about 3 years. (Jacobs, Atogwe, Harrison, Kiwanuka)

If we want to keep it simple we could just include .1 pts to the scoring, that would all but eliminate ties, I haven't seen a tie as of yet in the leagues that score this way.

That's exactly what we do, add 1 point to the final score for an OT victory.

I'm talking about use the same scoring setup as we do in Dickerson and Sanders, we use one decimal place in the scoring, we can win or lose by as little as a tenth of a point but the chances of a tie is drastically reduced. ;D

I was thinking the same as the winged/bird/lion. Decimal scoring makes ties very unusual. Instead of 1 point per 10 yards, we should be scoring .1 point for 1 yard, which is still the same basic scoring, but gets rid of ties. Ties are dumb. I think our league already does that. We could change the 1 pt per 10 completions to .1 per 1 and the incomplations from -1 per 20 to -.05 per 1. Passing yards should be .04 pt for every 1 yard. This league is part old scoring scoring system and part decimal scoring system, so the rest just needs streamlined into the decimal scoring.
I'll still be in support of making a tie really a loss for both teams... if there is any other support for that great idea.

I agree decimal scoring appears hugely preferable. While I'm at it, D-line need a boost too in agreement with another thread, nothing too major but in line with DBs at the very worst is what I'd like.

I find decimal scoring aesthetically unappealing but it does have its utility. Still having an OT with the OT winner having 1 point added, as we do in my other league, is even less likely to result in a tie. We used to just add the score of the alternate players for OT but it's a lower scoring league and total points is a significant tiebreaker. Which is why I haven't updated the playoff picture, too many of us are tied lol. Here's exactly how it works: Designate an alternate player who is not a starter If they are tied go to total bench points If they are tied well then you just kissed your sister 1 extra point to the OT winner also, I already know how to program that on MFL.

I'm for the designated player if we can't make both teams losers, as long as it's easy to do while setting the starting lineup.

If the playoffs started today....
Seed 1 bye Tulsa Roughnecks (8-3) Seed 2 bye Gryphons (8-3) (note: Roughnecks own tiebreakers over both Gryphons and Claymores, whooo-hooo) (note2: Gryphons have clinched the Conference Championship and a bye, congratulations!)
Seed 3 Scottish Claymores (8-3) Seed 6 Waddling Mummies (5-6) (note: Mummies 2-0 vs Phantoms and Hero's)
Seed 4 Rumblin Monkeys (5-5-1) Seed 5 Gun Shy Dogs (5-5-1) (note: Monkeys owns tb over Dogs)
Consolation Bracket
Seed 7 Phantoms (5-6) Seed 10 Washington Imperials (2-9)
Seed 8 Average Hero's (5-6) Seed 9 Sabretooth Crotch Crickets (3-8) (note: Phantoms owns tb over Hero's)
There's so little separating seeds 4-8 the possibilities are endless.

I'm for the designated player if we can't make both teams losers, as long as it's easy to do while setting the starting lineup. You would see a drop-down menu at the bottom of your Submit Lineup page listing all your players. If you try to use a player in your starting lineup it would give you one of those big red letter invalid lineup error messages.
