I would like some opinions on this, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski or "Coach K" endorsed expanding the NCAA tournament for the 65 teams now to 96 teams with the top 32 seeds getting a first round bye.
even a guy like me who doesnt pay much attention to sports outside of my favorite NFL pays somewhat attenttion to the NCAA tourney I even fill out a bracket now and then.
while there would be more baskeball for the lover I think it takes away from what seems to me the thing that feuls colledge sports... contraversy. there rae many team on the bubble and it seems to me people seem to enjoy arguing for and against teams on the bubble and those snubbed to the tournament. I think it helps keep intrest up.
As a Penn State fan I would have loved to see them in the tourney last year even if for a round but how satisfying would it be if the only reason they make it is because they are 90th out of 96 teams.
What are your thoughts? Even if you dont pay much attention to colledge basketball post something here. Let us try to keep this forum somewhat active year round.

College sports there are just illogically set out to me. Here college sports are nothing (no fans tv etc, maybe a few parents but that's it) but even so it follows our standard - a series of leagues with a top and bottom with promotion and relegation. That helps keep manageable-sized leagues so everyone plays the same oppositions, and the teams should (long term) be of about the same level, hence more competitive week-in and week-out. Imagine in CFB if the preseason top 12 all played eachother once with the winner playing the winner of teams 13-24... That would give the 'best team in the country' in almost every single year.

I think we might have more colleges than England due to our size and travel in that format couldbe difficult.
I do like the thought though i rewards excellence while does not cater to those who would underachieve. the downside is the bowl game cash cow would be gone.
Any other thoughts?

I really dont watch College basketball even March madness I dont watch the games.. I may check the scores for fun.. I really dont have a problem with the current system they use.. There is enough team with 65 teams . I wish they did have a similar concept for the college football… I dont care what they actually implement in there but anything compare to what they have right now. Then again I only watch some college football… mostly the bigger games.
