Tulsa OK - Tulsa Roughnecks Head Coach Homer Jones, Jr. is in Tulsa County Jail tonight after being arrested for burning down the home of Roughnecks General Manager Marcus Dupree.
A judge ruled that Jones should be held over night without bond. A bond hearing will be held tomorrow morning.
Jones was arrested at the scene of the four-alarm fire. According to the Tulsa Police Department spokesman Jerry Derryberry, Jones told multiple witnesses, including police and fire personnel, that he was enraged over Dupree trading away running back Chris Johnson earlier in the day.
"Jones was screaming at anyone he saw," said Derryberry. "Even after we arrested him, he would not stop shouting about how angry he was and how proud he was about what he had done."
The Dupree family was not at home at the time. The house was a total loss, according to Derryberry. No other homes were significantly damaged in the blaze.
Representatives for Dupree, Jones and the Roughnecks have yet to respond to any press inquiries.
