As per our custom, we reserve the Rookie Draft thread for draft picks only and ask you use this thread to make fun of them.
This would also be a good place for aimlessly hoping someone will trade for your next pick or let you trade up for theirs.

For example, I'm open to anything, such as:
trading down from 1.08 if I like what I see, or
packaging 2.07 and 2.08 for a trade up several spots.

Maybe the Stumblin Fumblers are considering moving up for Richardson...

btw the way, love the logo and admire your ability to find an even more obscure North American football team than seen before here.

Haha, thanks! It was originally the Ottawa Loggers, but even a n00b can photo-shop with GIMP.

Partially surprised #2 was not a RB.

There will be a delay today on the pick...i cannot use it for the value it has as i don't want a rb...i have a few things in the works and would suspect this could take the majority of the day...fyi - I am still willing to accept offers

FYI to all, the Co-Commish and I are discussing what to do in the event Ottawa does not show up to pick. If anyone has heard from Ottawa since the end of last season that would be good to know. At some point we'll have to conclude he has abandoned his team and find a new owner. The question is whether or not missing his first round draft pick deadline is that point, and what to do about it if so.
By our rules once a team's 24 hours is up the next team in line can jump in and pick. The draft continues for another 24 hours, at which point a Commish will make the selection, and the price tag associated with the original pick applies.
ESPN doesn't really have a true rookie ranking up yet. Charles and I are discussing what references to use to make autopicks. As with the inaugural draft I believe a first round autopick should be offense no matter what.

I believe that league rules are intended for teams with owners. Obviously, an abandon team isn't making a pick. Having 6 picks go off before the 24 period expires and having that team sign some scrub for $4 isn't going to make the team attractive for a new owner. The new owner would be better off holding the draft, making a real default draft pick for their draft spot, or not having the pick at all. If I were taking over the team, I'd rather not have the pick then have the 7th best WR in the draft signed for $4. That hurts the team more then it helps.

Maybe you put a bug in Charles' ear too, or he came up with similar thinking on his own. That's exactly what we are discussing now. I want to bend over backwards as far as possible to accommodate Ottawa. But if we decide to follow your cogent advice and pick for him when he's on the clock then as far as I'm concerned it's no longer his team.

I want to bend over backwards as far as possible to accommodate Ottawa. But if we decide to follow your cogent advice and pick for him when he's on the clock then as far as I'm concerned it's no longer his team. He hasn't logged into this proboard site for over a year and had several weeks of bye week or injured players in his lineup last year due to no lineup changes... maybe he'll surprise us and he's one of the "guests" that show up, but it doesn't look like he thinks he has a team in this league or wants the team at this point. I agree that if the pick is made for him, then it's not his team. Did he not have any free agents that needed adddressed before this point? If an new owner is needed, I suggest a quick post on the old no-offseason to possibly get someone we know. Otherwise, I'm sure I can find a person, but I am out of brothers who aren't in the league . Getting a new owner ASAP should be priority if the team is abandon. I don't want to see the league have to keep drafting for this team as the rounds pass.

One owner may already have recruited a new person to take over. But don't let me discourage people to keep looking. I do have a dangling lead from the rotoforum board (to which you refer) from last time we were looking, Moosehead. I can try following up with him if needed.
